In 2023, I joined the team at Crowdcube to lead product design. There was a very large existing ui estate to update and maintain, and lots of new features on the roadmap. I definitely had my work cut out.
But over the course of a year, along with the whole product team, I started building a design system, fixed a number of existing features, improved communication and process between design and engineering, and on top of that shipped a whole bunch of new stuff.

Design a Crowdcube campaign experience that made companies feel supported and empowered rather than it being a necessary chore.
DESIGN SYSTEM
Set the foundations for a new PRISM design system from the ground up, with the aim of working more efficiently with the engineering team and creating a more simple, consistent visual language.
By the time I left, PRISM was beginning to be adopted across the whole product estate.

I advocated for the needs of users, inclusiveness, and good design process when product decisions were being made.
This included being involved in the formation of quarterly product roadmaps, and moving the experience, through the design system and discussions with engineering, towards AA compliance.
